Osvald Jensen A/S is a family-owned company with over 100 years of experience in the development and production of transmission parts. We deliver customized quality solutions from our factory in Denmark and are known for our reliability and expertise.

The story behind Osvald Jensen

Year 1911

The beginning

Osvald Jensen A/S was founded in 1911 by Osvald Jensen, a skilled precision mechanic trained at Lauritz Knudsen. He started his business with a friend in a small room in Kattesundet, Copenhagen, where they repaired cinema machines for the newly established film industry. After his friend emigrated to the USA, Osvald continued alone and received support from wholesaler Salomonsen to develop a teletypewriter.

Expansion and Innovation

The company moved to Rahbeks Allé no. 20, but the teletype project was abandoned at the outbreak of World War I in 1914. Instead, Osvald Jensen turned to the production of carburetors, which became a great success during the war. The company moved to larger premises at Vesterbrogade 112 in 1915 and continued to produce carburetors until the 1920s.

1920s & 1930s

New Challenges and Growth

The 1920s and 1930s were a difficult period for the company, which struggled with a lack of sales opportunities for their carburetors. However, Osvald Jensen found new sources of income by becoming a subcontractor to the automotive industry and Copenhagen Tramways. In 1935, we started manufacturing electric gramophone movements, which became a new success.

Wartime and Post-war period

During World War II, the company adapted by producing gas burners for vehicles when gasoline supplies were scarce. After the war, the production of gramophone movements continued and became an important source of income. The company grew and moved to new premises on Amerikavej in 1960 and later to Industrivej in Glostrup in 1985.

CNC Age Beginner

In 1985, the third generation took over management with Jens Peter Jensen and Søren Jensen as directors. The company continued to be a major player in the manufacture of precision components and retained the innovative spirit founded by Osvald Jensen. Under the new management and based on their technical know-how, Osvald Jensen A/S became a market-leading Danish manufacturing company that still develops small customer-designed gears and sprockets, and produces its own worm gears, which we market ourselves.

Lotte Bruun Jensen: Fourth Generation at the Helm

In 2014, Lotte Bruun Jensen took over the management of Osvald Jensen A/S from her father, Jens Peter Jensen. Lotte has been part of the board since she was 18 years old and has worked closely with her father to ensure a smooth transition. She holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from DTU and continues to modernize and expand the company. Lotte works to maintain our image as a loyal, trustworthy and value-creating partner.

The team: Lotte Bruun Jensen and Christian Viereck

Lotte Bruun Jensen works closely with Christian Viereck, who joined the company in 2004 and later became COO. Christian is a trained toolmaker and later a mechanical engineer. Together they work to ensure that the company can develop and adapt to the demands of the future. Their collaboration strengthens the company's focus on quality, innovation and sustainability. They implement sustainable practices in production to minimize environmental impact and ensure a more responsible future.

Tradition and Innovation

Osvald Jensen A/S, which began on Vesterbrogade, is now located in Skovlunde in brand new modern premises, which we moved to in spring 2024. We continue to supply custom-made gears and sprockets to a wide range of industries, including the medical, logistics and robotics industries. We are known for our ability to advise customers from prototype to production, ensuring precise and reliable products.

A Family Owned Vision

We have maintained family ownership through four generations, and Lotte Bruun Jensen continues with the desire to strengthen our vision of being Northern Europe's leading manufacturer of small worm gears and small gears. She balances her role as CEO with her family life and works actively to ensure that our knowledge and traditions are passed on to future generations. Lotte is also engaged in organizational work as vice chairman of Kjøbenhavns Smedelaug and works to promote sustainability and the interests of small businesses within the industry. Her goal is to ensure that Osvald Jensen A/S remains a relevant and innovative player for many years to come.
